Who I Am

A Few Details...

I was born in Oakland, California and then proceeded to move all over the country. My parents settled in the Chicagoland area for my child and teenage years.

After high school graduation, I took off for Illinois State University and then much to my regret partied my way out a year later. I enlisted in the Air Force which took me to Vandenburg Air Force base in California. In California, I had my daughter Lynnette.

Fate took me cross country to Vermont for the first time. I loved it here and my son was born at Fletcher Allen.

My next job took me to Virginia. I am a Star Trek fan and my passion for gaming landed a great job. But a few years later, I was back in Vermont and here I remain.

Why I chose Essex Junction

I have been an Essex Junction resident on and off for over 20 years. My daughter, my son and I moved to Essex Junction for the excellent schools. But after living here for their school years, I came to understand that while the schools are amazing, the community is why I kept returning.

My wife and I are originally from the Chicagoland area. (Fun fact: My wife and I met when we were 7 but did not marry until we were 37!) We were used to the big city but after convincing her to move to Vermont, we ended up buying a home in Essex Junction. This is now our home and our community.

What I do for a living

You might know my name from the Morning Drive with Marcus and Kurt on WVMT. I hosted the morning show with Kurt Wright for over three years until moving on to be the Sales Manager for a company here in Vermont. I work with a fantastic Vermont sales team helping local businesses advertise. I have also run my own media buying business and fully understand the ups and downs of small business.

What I do for fun

On any weekend, you will find me and my wife, Alise, road tripping around Vermont for the best food and drink it has to offer. I am an avid gamer, PC builder, and tech enthusiast, but I also love a good board game. I came to love community theater and was on the Board of the Essex Community Players. You can catch me with my wife and son who have been in many local productions. We also help foster our dog, Sylvie, from VT Dog Rescue in Hinesburg. We fostered 15 pups until we finally gave in and adopted Sylvie, a Black Mouth Cur, Great Dane Mix.

You will find us occasionally at the dog park or walking the block. We are loving the wonderful venues that are popping up and we are hanging out at for pizza or a croissant or so much more.

Keep in Touch
